Good morning everyone,
I hope your bodies aren't aching as much as mine! For those who don't yet know the result, UTD ran riot yesterday at the VUB indoor centre over Real Madou. From the start UTD were cursed with bad luck when there newly named manager Roman 'Wally' Walega was nowhere to be seen. The aggressive German was expected to drive fear into the team as motivation, rather than the novel - but succesful - tactic of bribery implemented by Seb 'Lionel' Finch. With the lure of a crate of beer to quench the team's thirst upon victory, the team thrived. Gitte, herself professed, 'Schmeicel', eased the pressure with a calm finish to put UTD in the lead. Outstanding goalkeeping from Dimi let us arrive at half time 4-1 up. The music brought by DJ Chris AKA Kuntz encouraged both teams, but the tunes banged out were simply too hot for Real Madou to handle. Caroline and Carina showed their loyalty to the team by refusing to play for our fierce rivals when their female player got injured in the second half, much to the relief of the rest of UTD. Nick 'needs a nickname' proved his worth by putting his body on the line on several occasions, throwing himself infront of the opposition with no regard for his health. Bogomil 'Bo Go' and Mihaly 'Szo Bo' were unlucky not to get on the scoresheet which was topped by Neil 'Johnny Wilkinson' with a deadly hat-trick, but there is a long season to go and there will plenty more opportunity for that. Final score UTD 11 - 2 Real Madou.
